Logline / Summary:
Remnants is a research-driven performance project that explores memory, bodily experience, and symbolic representation through spatial and material design. Drawing from the intimate bond between mother and child, the performance reflects on loss, grief, and the persistence of presence after death, as seen through the perspective of a daughter navigating life beyond her mother’s passing.
The work examines how a child carries unarticulated suffering formed before language and cognition, and how material, light, color, and spatial relationships can embody emotions that cannot be named. Dedicated to the artist’s mother, Remnants functions as both a self-confession and a manifesto of a bond shaped by care, gratitude, resentment, and enduring attachment. Through the performance space, audience positioning, and evolving material compositions, the project seeks to hold the mother close as a blurred yet persistent imagination.
